Great reference book for perinatal, mother/baby, postpartum and or nursery RNs. A must have in your bookshelf.I used this book as well as William's Obstetrics to study for my Certification exam. Both text books are filled with amazing information, I crack open the books every now and then if I want to look more in depth at the patho or dynamics behind a certain process

THIS IS THE WORST NURSING TEXT BOOK I HAVE EVER SEEN.Pros:The cover is prettyBook is light- fits in my back pack nicelyCons:The whole book is written in note form- each chapter covers roughly three chapters worth of informationThere is NO way to summarize the information because its already summarized for you, makes taking notes impossibleUses a lot of scientific words without explaining 3/4 of them. How am I supposed to read 3 chapters in a timely manner when I have to look up every other word?There isn't any evolve resources for this book, frustrating when students have a hard time summarizing the information and deciding what is importantBlack and white everything- makes it very hard to pick up the book and find something quickly.Topics within the chapters are organized in a way that doesn't flow and makes learning harder.No index.To top it off my professor for this class wasn't the greatest. Added to the hatred of this textbook to be honest. BUT I really think this book wasn't made for an undergrad maternity class, the information was much too in-depth and the textbook assumed that the student was already knowledgeable on the subject.Would not recommend.

Must have for mother/ baby RN's and good certification resource.

Love the layout of the book. Easy to read. The book is also a good reference tool.
