I love these cards. They're amazing for calling in the energies of the various light keepers to work with or ask for assistance from, and they're equally amazing for opening dialogues with these energies. The latter is especially true, perhaps, if you work with channeling or mediumship.For me and for my clients, I find these cards are drawn from when a specific spirit energy will be helpful to inform or alleviate or grow a situation; whatever's in the best interest of the person in question. I also find they're drawn from often to offer comfort in a very specific way.Whether for personal or professional use, or both, these cards are divine.

These are so beautiful....almost to beautiful to use. Along with their beauty comes deep wisdom. I feel grateful to be drawn to them.

I found out the card quality is going down recently from Hay House. The 2 decks I got from them recently don't have the gold gilding and the card have the weird feeling with shuffling, they somehow stick together. I think they want to cost down the making process to make more profit. I think it is better to find the first batch of printing if you can. Overall, I love the deck itself but not the quality.

Gorgeous artwork in this deck. I resonated with the cards right away and recommend them for those that would like to work with Ascended Masters, Gods, and Goddesses, Archangels from a world culture viewpoint.

I just got these cards in and they are absolutely beautiful. i love them! The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because all of the corners are a bit damaged. It looks like it happened during production of the cards. They are just bent a tiny bit. Not the biggest deal to me, but I feel it's worth mentioning. I also noticed that the book is cut. It also must have happened during production. The slice goes through the cover and into several pages. I love everything else about them. The images are so beautiful, and the edges are lovely too! They give off such a loving energy. I can't wait to work with them!

Gorgeous deck that includes many of the well known masters and angels along with others that I haven't heard of. If you enjoy vibrant colors, healing energy and connecting with the non-conditional realms these are the deck for you. I have used the same deck from Doreen Virtue for about 15 years now and haven't found another I like as much, I am using these cards to receive messages to help me through challenging life situations. Very nice art. Cards are printed on nice paper. Description book has good helpful information about each card and about different possible spreads. I did the 7 card spread and each card had a helpful lesson for me and synched very well with my life. I even got two big hints about how to over come the obstacle in my path and be victorious over my own fears and limitations. I almost always have synchs when using divination cards and this deck was no exception.

I love this series of books and you can't go wrong with any of them. They are beautifully written and illustrated, and the stories are based on the real lives of famous artists and the young people in their lives who inspired them, which kids really like. The books also encourage young readers to be creative and explore possibilities in art, and the stories end with a project the child can do at home, based on the artistic style discussed in the book. Each book could really be an art lesson in itself, with art history, an interesting story, artistic techniques and a specific exercise included in each one. My daughter is in first grade but I imagine she will get more out of these books in the years to come.

This is such a cute and sweet story! I bought it as part of our artist study for my daughter's first grade curriculum. We've read it several times, and although it doesn't go in depth to Monet's biography as part of the story, it gives a very general overview of his love of gardening, and his work as an artist. There is a one page biography at the back, which I paraphrased for my children. I hope to get more of these books in the future!

I can't say enough good about this series. It is a creative way to introduce kids to these artists. They are written to be kids stories and entertain while throwing in some information about who the artist is, to show the artists' general style and introduce some specific works by the artist. My daughter is 5. She soaks this stuff in. I think she would have been able to be as receptive to the stories at age 4 and maybe just earlier than that but it would have been pushing the envelope. I suspect she will enjoy the stories for another couple years.It has lead us to google some of the actual artists' works. My daughter now wants to find some museums that have some of the pieces that are addressed in the books.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. You would be doing yourself and your children a favor by purchasing this! I learned more than what I thought I knew, and my 8 year old ate it up. I love that this book can connect with adults and children alike. A must buy for anyone wanting to expand their children's knowledge of an incredible painter!

I gave this as a gift to a 9 year old girl who loves art. We had a great time reading the book together. She especially loved the colors in the book as did I. The colorful fold-out of Monet's water garden is very nice.

This is a great story, also includes a fantastic bio in the back. Beautifully colored pictures, this really opens up your children to learning more about the greatest impressionists.

My 5 year old loves these books. The pictures are beautiful, the stories engaging. We started with one and liked it so much that I bought the rest. Educational, but they don't know it ;-)

"Islam & Mammon: The Economic Predicaments of Islamism" by Timur Kuran (2004). [The author is a libertarian, free-market professor of economics; somehow, he was once the "King Faisal Professor of Islamic Thought and Culture" at the Univ. of Southern California (c. 2004), but (c. 2011) he is at the Fuqua Business School at Duke Univ.] This book is a very insightful book regarding how the supporters of "Islamic Banking" ("I.B.") have hoodwinked virtually everyone into believing that their anti-interest (anti-riba) concepts are "superior" to free-market, pro-interest (pro-riba) theories. The author tries to argue that almost all Muslims fail to understand the hang-up that Prophet Muhammad had against common interest (riba). The author argued that the Quran prohibits "is the pre-Islamic Arabian institution of riba, whereby a borrower saw his debt double following a default and redouble if he defaulted again. Because it tended to push defaulters into enslavement, riba had long been a source of communal friction (p. 14)." The author calls this type of riba: "mammon" which is not an Arabic term, but is derived from the Christian Bible (see Wikipedia). I am unaware of an Arabic word for the author's contention (besides riba). [Nonetheless, the author details how I.B. or I. Economics is a recently "invented business" concept (c. 1970s).] I don't believe that the author really "proves" his point regarding mammon/riba with his book - he doesn't cite any Quranic or ahadith references to his contention (not that I recall anyway). Nonetheless, I highly recommend this book for the MANY OTHER topics that the author analyzes in debunking Islamic Economics. A reader should be familiar with free-market concepts: interest theory, P/L, etc. The author discusses how Muslims are trying to 'accept' the use of interest (riba) by calling it instead a "management fee" and thereby avoid the opprobrium of 'riba'. Apparently, the author has expanded his arguments against the silliness (okay, anti free-market theories) of Islamic Banking/Economics history in "The Long Divergent: How Islamic Law Held Back the Middle East." Islamists are not going to like this book for revealing (shouting out) about I.E.: "Look, the Emperor (I.E.) is wearing no clothes!" Essentially, the author is claiming that I.B. is not really "economics", but more of a politico-socio (religious) "feel good" populist concept ballyhooed by those ignorant of market economics. Islamists realize that acceptance of "riba" would contradict Allah's commandment against riba; they all-to-well properly realize: "accept riba, denounce Allah!" That is the Islamists' conundrum: how to admit that Allah got it wrong about interest/riba (this would then lead to inquiring if Allah made other errors in the Quran -- or maybe Muhammad misunderstood what Allah was saying). I.E. ranks alongside with those who believe in the "Flat World Society" or Stalinism.

An excellent scholarly book. Great detail and very in depth analysis. Inevitable conclusion is the impossibility of molding an economic system out of a moral philosophy, not just Islam. That is where the problem with traditional Islamic thought arises, for most of its adherents, Islam is not just a set of moral principles but a way of life, dictating every aspect of it. Unavoidably, there was much effort by Islamists to set up a distinct system of banking and economy based on pure Islamic traditions. Prof. Kuran delves into the history of these movements, but he does more than that, he puts all this in cultural and political context. At the end, he bravely expands more on the general failure of Islamic culture and tradition to bring wealth and prosperity to the masses that follow it. Writing is very formal, not the easiest read and surley apporpriate only for the truly intersted in the general topic, but it was well worth it for this reader.

The central and most important point in this highly useful volume is that Islamic finance is an "invented tradition," which empowers Islamic radicals. Now, coming as it does from the University of Southern California King Faisal Professor of Islamic Thought, that statement represents years of study, and a great deal of courage."Neither classical nor medieval Islamic civilization featured banks in the modern sense, let alone `Islamic' banks...," Kuran continues.Western securities and banking regulators, legislators, bankers, money managers and securities lawyers, take note: Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna concocted the idea of Islamic banking in the 1920s to unite Muslims in one global Islamic nation (umma), to create a parallel financial system, and ultimately to help reestablish a global Islamic empire, subservient to shari'a law.These and many other such facts are things that radical sheiks and "shari'a finance scholars" do not want readers to know. Which is why anyone even remotely interested in shari'a finance should purchase and read this book, and keep it on their desk. It's invaluable.--Alyssa A. Lappen
