I live in Nevada so I don't get to see the ocean or any lighthouses. I have always had a fascination about lighthouses and their history. This book is an excellent collection of photographs and historical information. I am so motivated to plan a trip to New England to see these beautiful and majestic sights. I originally took this book out from my local library but I just had to have my own copy. Unlike some historical books, the author does not bog you down with information that is boring or too technical. It paints a beautiful picture of the New England coastline and is a great guide for planning a trip to seeing these magnificent lighthouses in person.

Although this book has short paragraphs discussing individual lighthouses, its strength is in its strong overview of general US lighthouse history with an emphasis on New England. Contains many good quality color photographs. I would recommend this book. My only criticism is that I want more indepth information about specific lights and locating that information requires considerable page flipping within this volume.For more detailed information about specific lights see the editions by Snow and D'Entremont.

It came in as advertised, a little worn on the cover but other wise in very good condition. The photographs on the pages were awesome and the articles were very good. I have no problem with this book or the seller. I would recommend this book or the seller too anyone.

Great stories throughout, and you will learn quite a bit about lighthouses in general. Nice photography as well, and there is a guide to lighthouses across the country in the back of the book. Very nice!!

This was a quick, efficient transaction and the product was as promised. I draw and paint and often use photos as inspiration. The pictures in this book were perfect for this purpose.

I'm very happy with this book. It was well written and informative. It helped me identify a lighthouse in a painting I had purchased.

When I received this book as a gift I expected that it would be another lovely book of New England photos to keep on the guest room bookshelf. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself caught up instead in the beautifully-written text. Who knew there were so many intriguing myths, legends, historical facts, and entertaining anecdotes about the people who built, populated, and even haunt New England lighthouses? This book turned out to be a terrific history lesson and an all-around great read.

Ah! What can I say? It's Betty White! Geez, what a cool lady!I borrowed the Kindle version from my library. I started reading and finished this evening. If there is anyone in our world I would just love to sit and have a cup of tea with, or even hug, it is Betty!I feel an afterglow from reading this. She just makes you feel good!

These are short and upbeat chapters on many topics from dogs to TV shows Betty White was in. This is not a deep book revealing family hard times but rather, a fun book to read. No dark secrets revealed here. White plays poker with a group of friends that have played poker together forever; she claims she is popular there because she “always leaves $13 on the table.” She is a big fan of Robert Redford and was thrilled when he sent her a note which was a six stanza poem about her. She has a room full of stuffed animals in both of her homes, she loves and collects them and admits that she says “I love you guys” out loud whenever she visits the stuffed animals, and reminds us she is 89 years old. I enjoyed the many photos of her with her husband, dogs and famous friends.

Still going strong at the age of 89, Betty White is practically a force of nature, and only a determined curmudgeon could dislike this endearing collection of mini-essays by the seven-time Emmy winner. Written in a style similar to her previous book "Betty White: In Person," this new book is filled with chatty, warm, winning anecdotes about HOT IN CLEVELAND, her recent turn on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and, as always, her love for animals. Her fundamental decency as a person, as well as her gifts as a performer, are evident throughout. Numerous black-and-white photos from throughout her career grace the pages. If you're looking for bitterness, cynicism, or salaciousness, keep moving. But if you'd enjoy spending a few hours in the company of a very classy, funny, down-to-earth lady who wears her success lightly, this is just the ticket.

The "chapters" are often 2 short pages and the stories are cute but I wish they were more fleshed out. I expected a bit more depth so I was disappointed on that front. But I still love Betty White and it was still an entertaining enough read, esp if you just want something light and not at all deep or thought provoking. I don't really feel that I know Betty any better after reading this book and I think that's my main disappointment. I wanted to know more than just scratching the surface. I think the memoirs by Sarah Bareilles and Jewel Kilcher have spoiled me!

Bought this book as a gift for my mother who's in her 70s. I honestly wasn't sure if she was going to even pick it up because she has a hard time seeing. However, she finished reading it in a few days because she refused to put it down.She absolutely loved Betty's book and can't wait for me to order her other books.

I have enjoyed watching Betty White on television since I was a kid. This is the first book I have read by her and I liked it very much. It was written in a very different format than most autobiographies. She tells about the most important things in her life. It is not a timeline, it is written in little essays. It was interesting and light, but I know all about Betty now. She has wonderful parents who passed on their love for the outdoors and animals to her.I really liked her advice to new actors. It could apply to any profession. "Treat your profession with respect. Come in prepared. Come in to every situation with a positive open mind...." Good advice for all.Other things I liked she is always laughing, positive and grateful. Could this be the secret to a long life?The pictures were awesome. You will like this if you like Betty White.

This book let's you know Betty White a bit better than you think you did. My 24 year old daughter loves her through reruns of the Golden girls and would think it is hysterical that i decided to read her book but the jokes on her because I enjoyed it a lot.

I was very disappointed because I find the NAME, BETTY WHITE, synonymous with guffaws of laughter. This book is too slow even delivering some transparency of life.

I liked it but I was disappointed because I had hoped there would be much more about The Golden Girl years. Betty White has written other books so I plan to read those. It's very likely one of her other books will provide more of a glimpse into those Golden Girls years. I'm such a big fan of that show and still watch the re-runs daily. Who doesn't love Betty White? She is candid and honest.....putting it out there for all to see.

Previous Gray Man & Greaney's extension of John Clancy's books, have been excellent. This is 1st one to suffer from plot diffusion, choppy story, contrived coincidences, & explaining much that did not belong. Characters suffered as well: dialog weak in places, didn't mesh with previous renditions of personalities, too much fake jousting. Too much Bang & not enough story. Clancy never wrote a book at the expense of his characters & realistic portrayal. This is not good enough. For you. Go back to your roots & apply the structure & discipline as an exceptional writer of Thrillers in the shadow of John Clancy.

I am happily exhausted from reading “Mission Critical”. I am in awe of the ability of the author to have a cohesive, easily understood, but very complex storyline that is also full of almost constant action. Vengeance and insanity cause a man to plot a grotesque death for around 5000 top security people in the UK, USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, AND NEW ZEALAND. Years in the planning, can anyone stop this when no one knows about it until the last moments?Courtland “Court” Gentry, also known as Violator, is a CIA contract agent. He is part of a small group handled by Suzanne Brewer, a skilled agent who hates her job. She is just one of the many interesting characters surrounding Violator. Besides the violence and action, there is a love affair, humor, and emotional turbulence. This book stands alone well, even though it is part of a series. This is a very exciting and entertaining read!

Was excited to get this latest edition of the Gray Man series. The book has some very good parts but some parts leave plenty of room for improvement. Additionally, I did not like the ending at all. I would read it if you’ve read the whole series but if I started with this one I would not have read the earlier ones. Disappointing.

This is some of Greaney's best work. We again have the Gray Man, doing what he does best - killing the opposition and working without all the facts, while in the field.In this newest book in the Gray Man series, he is continuing to work at the direction of the CIA, and unfortunately under the direct orders of Suzanne Brewer, a woman who places her advancement within the CIA above all else, including the lives of those under her command.A general of the GRU, long thought to be dead, is actually in the UK, and planning an attack on a conference of the Five Eyes intel community. The job is to stop him.This is, as are all of Greaney's novels, well researched as to the tactics, and tools of the trade. I only spotted one error, in this regard - the author has Court use a Faraday cage to block the tracking of a phone - so far, so good, but he mentions that the cage is "lead lined". Wrong - a Faraday cage is made of a network of conductors that form a barrier to electrical impulses. Lead is not a conductor. Such a lead bag would be better for blocking X-rays, or protecting film, not in the making of such a Faraday cage. Other minor proofing errors, include an incident where the author uses an adjective instead of an adverb, and another where he messes up the usage of "bring" and "take". But, given the current status of proof reading, two such errors in a 510 page book is certainly acceptable error rate.As with all such series books, it is better to read them in order. If you have been reading the Gray Man series, do not miss this one!

Mission Critical is one of the finest novels I have ever read. Brilliantly infused plot-lines without turning overwhelming, stunning action sequences ranging from hand-to-hand combat to shootouts and car chases involving shootouts, a roster of returning characters and wonderful humor to balance the gritty situations in the novel. Court Gentry is back as The Gray Man, wrecking havoc in spectacular sequences of action and car chases on bad guys that cross his path. It is always a pleasure to see Court hasn't lost a step. Mission Critical brings back Zoya Zakharova from gunmetal gray and Zack Hightower from the previous novels as Court's team leader during his time in CIA. The chemistry between Court and Zoya is beautifully written and is a delight to read as a long time Gray Man fan. Zack Hightower provides a comic relief in the midst of dire situations but the author makes sure the comic relief does not feel awkward or ill-written. The action sequences are written with a finesse that combines realism with pure awesomeness as Court Gentry does what he does best, take out the bad guys like a boss. The plot twists and turns are well thought out to maximize their effects as readers expect one thing to happen and the narrative takes a swift turn that keeps the readers excited. The stakes in this novel while of global reach also hold personal stakes for Court and Zoya, making the story all the more interesting. Mr. Greaney manages to create a masterpiece with all the necessary elements of an exciting action thriller and then some more. A must read masterpiece!

Nailed it. Style, plots, chattracted s, locations, details. I was ready for a good red and this did not disappoint. Court and Zack play off each other like brothers and not just brothers in arms. Brewer is someone you love to dislike and at the same time understand how driven she is for mostly the right reasons. Looking forward to see how Zoya and Court "move on". Very much looking forward to the next chapter.

Very easy for a beginner in the art of drawing and coloring, gets a full five star from me!

used as a gift. I don't know anything about musical instruments, but it seemed to be appreciated.

Bought this for my 11 yr old niece who loves drawing and is in a band. She and her 8yr old sister have had lots of fun using this book. I like that it has practice pages in the book so you dont need extra paper.

Daughter wanted exactly this, and she loves it. If she loves it, I love it. Fast shipping and delivery, too!

This book is easy to follow and kids will have their drawings look pretty good when done. This is not a book that will frustrate your kids because their drawings don't look like the book.

This isn't a new cookbook, and Penelope Casas has written a few that supplement it, but it ranks alongside James Beard's cookbooks for quality and utility!. I lived in Spain for four years, and came to love the food. This copy of the book was a replacement for the copy that finally fell apart after many years of hard use. Having to discard the old copy was like discarding an old lover! Receipes are easy to follow, ingredients are easy to find. When unique ingredients are needed, Casas gives you enough information to find them- and this was before the Internet which now makes it a breeze, even when living in rural South Carolina! I highly recomment this book for anyone who likes Spanish food or who would like to try it. Just a few recipes, like Fabada Asturiana, Cocido Madrileno and Fideus (Paella with noodles instead of rice) make it worth the cost!

I had a copy and one of my children has it and I wanted another one. Good find and value and in excellent condition.

This book is full of a dynamic range of Spanish recipes, all of which are both tasty and easy to prepare. Every recipe I've made has come out perfect, I have never had a failure. Ms. Casas has clearly gone to great lengths to capture authentic, well tested recipes that anyone can prepare.This book is so diverse in its scope that it would take a long time to tire of using it. I can hardly bare to cook anything else. Spanish flavor with its simplicity and freshness of flavors could not be better presented then in this perfect book. Highly reccomended!

I really love the variety presented in this book. It has tons of recipes for all sorts of skill levels. So if you want to make something elaborate for Spanish night or whatever, this one has you covered, but unlike other ethnic cookbooks, this one also has you covered if you just want to whip something together in a few minutes. I've done a couple of the elaborate recipes and they've all been great, but the really great thing is the number of ten-minute recipes that use between three (!) and five common ingredients, yet still turn out notably Spanish. The funny thing is that before all of simplest recipes, the author often says that it's actually one of her husband's favorite dishes and one that she ends up making most often.Added to that, all the side recommendations and advice that is given about each recipe and ingredients, this is by far the best ethnic cookbook I've ever owned. I can't imagine it being anything other than five stars.

This book is at the same time my favorite Spanish cookbook and the most frustrating. The recipes are terrific. I also have Casas' Delicioso! (which I highly recommend as well), but I prefer this book because it is better organized, with more of the standard Spanish recipes I crave (seafood with green sauce, scallops with sherry sauce, etc.-- fantastic). But with her later books such as Delicioso, Casas (or her editor) has learned to provide clearer, more accurate cooking instructions. In The Foods and Wines of Spain, the instructions are much more vague. How high should the heat be on the stove? How long should you sautee the onions? What does it mean exactly to "dust" something with flour? These things are often not spelled out. I am a pretty experienced cook but I would definitely benefit from some better instructions in some of the recipes. I can see how this book would be confusing for the novice cook or someone fairly new to Spanish cuisine-- if you are in this category you might want to start out with Delicioso!.

I love all of Penelope Casas' books on Spanish cooking and this one is the place to start.

Some cookbook authors go overboard in an attempt to take old traditional recipes and put a modern spin on them. Penelope Casas book instead shows respect for traditional recipes, preparations and flavors in a book that is straightforward, and written in a conversational tone as if one is sitting on a kitchen stool beside her in her kitchen. I really enjoyed it.

I am well pleased with the book . It's just what I expected.

Great book and I would recommend this to any product manager at any level.

I was very excited for this book to come out. I started my product Management career 3 years ago and I wish this book were there for me as a new Product Manager. I am still learning the craft and this book helped me accelerate my learning. If you are just starting out your Product Management career or in the early stages(<4 years) of it, I would fully recommend this book. This may be helpful for people with more experience as well but I can’t comment to it as I am not there yet.It is written in a very straight forward manner and this says something about Marc as a product person. I would venture to say that he approached this book as he would approach a product. It is a concise introduction to various aspects of the tools of Product Management laid out one by one in 6 chapters. Each chapter starts with a very clear goal for the chapter. It makes it easy to go back to it time to time for reference. It covers everything a Product Manger would need; starting a PM job all the way to how to manage and work with people.I plan to keep this book next to my desk going forward for an easy reference and gain perspective whenever I need it.

This book is a great addition to any product manager's bookshelf, particularly PMs that are relatively early in developing their product craft. It is an excellent primer that really lays things out in an easy to understand way. Every section is meticulously cited, which ends up creating another reading list that would keep someone busy for a year! This will definitely be my new go-to recommendation when someone wants to start learning about product management - it feels like a perfect tactical compliment to the more inspirational / theoretical books of my usual recommendations like Inspired.
