You will get to hear a lot ditching legacy style allocation as this shouldn't be an issue in IPv6, and focus on nibble boundaries and network functions.This is not a beginner's book on IPv6, but a reference to better plan and deploy once one has background information on how headers, ND and configuration works, but a very good complementary learning once you grasp the foundations of next generation IP.

I've been working in the ISP space for more than two decades and until recently, have been almost 100% IPv4 in both design and deployment. With the new startup I'm working with, IPv4 space is no longer an option as the cost per IP (via the auction houses) makes the acquisition of IPv4 space untenable. We started our IPv6 redesign for the growth of this ISP...Stepping into the IPv6 space, it became apparent that almost NONE of the standards I knew in the IPv4 space applied here. How addresses were assigned, how to laid out your distribution, how your customers get space, etc. are completely different. This book was instrumental in understanding the *design* differences in how we wanted to distribute and deploy address space. Unfortunately it doesn't tie into ARIN/RIPE requirements but that's a little much to expect from a book designed for enterprises.If you have any plans to deploy IPv6 space or plan on anything bigger than a /56, you need this book (if you don't know what a /56 is, you probably need this book).

Tom Coffeen does a great job of demystifying the IPv6 protocol, more importantly he explains the processes involved regarding obtaining network allocations from ARIN and other registreis for small to large enterprise organizations. Practical and industry best practice subnetting is explained along with complex subnetting for the "not so nervous". Highly recommended for any network engineer or architect looking towards implementing IPv6 on any scale. The book doesn't delve very deep into the mechanics of protocol 41, but is very much about network design, implementation and production management.

I bought this book when I work on IPv6 support by our applications. This book teaches me how to plan the IP upgrade from IPv4 only to both of IPv4 and IPv6, even IPv6 only. It gives me all points I should focus on, including the upgrade steps. This book is very helpful when you want to plan support IPv6 by your software and networks.

I have not finished this book yet.But, the author successfully show and explains- how big the IPv6 address space (vs IPv4)- why the current IPv4 address subnetting is completely irrelevant,- why we should go back to the classful IPv4 era concept with IPv6 address.And, I am sold to the author.I like this book because it has very original contents.

This book certainly helped me become more familiar and comfortable with IPv6 and subnetting. Tom clearly knows his stuff and has a decent, yet mild sense of humor throughout the book.

Decided to purchase as our goto map based on all the 5 star reviews, and ended up not using it at all!Cons:Map is really, really scrunched up, so the street names are teeny-tiny.While exploring this city, you will run into street names that switch within hundreds on yards that cannot fit on this map.Map has to be rotated 90º to the right to view it properly which makes it awkward to use.Pros:It's laminated.In short, it may be good for general references for main attractions like the Cathedral, Real Alcazar & Plaza de Espana but otherwise we found it pretty useless for our needs. The googlemaps printouts we did for neighbourhoods we wanted to explore turned out to be most helpful. For the sights we visited on impulse, the phone GPS was a lifesaver.

As noted by a previous reviewer, the map is not oriented with north up. I didn't think this was a problem except the part of Seville in which I was most interested is in an inset smaller map. This area, of historic and tourist interest cannot be correlated to points on the bigger city map. I bought the map in order to trace parade routes from the larger city to the Cathedral in the inset portion. This appears to be impossible because the landmarks on the big map are not reflected on the smaller map, nor are the streets.If you want to get a general idea of the city layout, it is useful.

Great maps! I have a bunch of them for when I travel. Sometimes, a hard map gives such a better idea of where you are in a strange city than does GPS.

We used this map for a full week in Seville. The map is in plastic, so it doesn't tear or become unruly. When folded, it fit nicely in my back pocket. Seville has a ton of really tiny streets, some which aren't very long. Somehow, this map manages to include many of them. There is a good index, as well as a separate section which zeroes-in on the Cathedral area of Seville. For us, it was a great purchase and we used it daily.

Rented an apartment for two weeks in the Barrio Santa Cruz in Seville March 2014. The GPS didn't work most of the time because of the buildings close together on narrow streets. The Streetwise map showed streets not on local tourist maps. We walked everywhere and this map helped us get our bearings in a city with many old neighborhoods with narrow, winding streets.The only thing is you have to orient your map in the direction you want to go. It's not difficult when using the major landmarks and geographical features indicated on the map.We also bought a Streetwise map of Madrid and found it equally useful in getting around.

The map worked well on our visit to Seville. It is easy to open and close and keep in your back pocket. The information about major sites is easy to spot on the map. Highly recommended. -- by the way...Seville is spectacular. It is definitely a 5 Star City with beautiful architecture. The Cathedral and the Alcazar are not to be missed.

This is a great map of Seville...except for one thing - it's missing a part of Seville - like where the futbol stadium is (estadio ramon sanchez) and the corresponding area. Although this part is easier to navigate, it still should be included in the map. Other than that, a great map for the main part of Seville (i.e. Barrio Santa Cruz, etc).

This book was just what I hoped it would be. It was an easy read but offered so much helpful information. Unlike a lot of books that are just for stepmom or stepdads, the advice in Step parenting: 50 One Minute Do's and Don'ts for Stepdads and Stepmoms is helpful for both. In fact, I'd say most of it would be great advice for any parent not just raising children, but having the right kind of relationship with your spouse. I liked that were several sections that dealt with the importance of not categorizing wither women or men based on their gender into a particular role in the family. This was great not only to help a marriage, but to set a good example in children about what good husband-wife relationships look like, particularly respect for women in diverse roles. I really liked the photographs that went with each of the fifty do's and don'ts as they tied in nicely with each subject and made it visually very pleasant to read. Many of the fifty step parenting suggestions were not completely new to me, but I admit I needed this refresher to remember them. I can't believe I had forgotten them as they are so important. There were also several ideas that were new to me that I can see putting to use right away. That's probably the best thing about this book in fact. It was just very easy to read and start using immediately.

It was simple and not so lengthy!Tells you straight up what to do. Have to follow through though.I'm going to get the parenting one for me though.Nothing's going to happen if you don't use the suggestions. Know this from personal experiences in our family. Not much of a family.I love how simple the directions are. Short, sweet and simple.

I really enjoyed this book. I think it is most to the point and helpful. I am previously divorced with ex step children and some of this would have helped tremendously. I am hoping it will with my current blended family.

This book is just what I needed. As a young new to-be step-parent, I was nervous going in to a marriage with a new family. What is my role? How do I earn respect from these kids as a fatherly figure? I had a lot of questions to ask myself. This book made it EASY. Randall Hicks keeps his answers SIMPLE. His expertise is apparent in every page. I'd recommend this book to anybody who's going in to a new step-parent relationship or even if it's a possibility down the road.

It was a quick read but not a lot of new information for me

Easily digestible sound advice delivered in simple language. Perhaps a little to digestible and simple. I didn't find much substance or originality in this book, more like cheap sound bites.

Short, concise sections on a variety of topics that should be helpful to any step parent or anyone considering being a step parent.

Good book for someone who never had kids, but married someone who did, otherwise it’s just common sense. Was disappointed
